“Where men are forbidden to honour a king, they honor millionaires, athletes, or film stars instead; even famous prostitutes or gangsters. For spiritual nature, like bodily nature, will be served; deny it food and it will gobble poison.”
~ C. S. Lewis
President of india
Chief Minister Office, Bihar
Pay their tribute at Demise of Great Mathematician Shri Vashisht Narayan Singh is a great loss to nation and humanity.
Life of Shri Singh also reminds us of the socio-political apathy to research and new thought process.
In fact political and social negligence had killed him long back.
Jai jawaan , jai kisaan, jai Vigyaan
This is the condition of our country where renowned mathematician is not treated well on his death and guy who is not even metric pass celebrates birthday in charter. Don't respect intelligence you will face the wrath.
One of the rarest genius who challenged Albert Einstein's famous formula E=mc2
If any other nation's countryman had challenged a theory by another estb. scientist, they'd would have honored him, funded his research, & further researched his claim but this is India, here educationists like Vashisht Narayan Singh die and are not even provided basic facilities
A great mathematician whose counting was accurate to the counting of 31 computers while launch of apolo mission is no more. Dr. Singh challenged Einstein's theory of relativity, worked in NASA, Washington's University, University of California, IIT Kanpur, IIT Mumbai and ISI Kolkata. The man who was the the biggest asset at a time at global forums took his last breath in an anonymous situation. Shame on us.
Moreover, he was no ordinary person... Should be given state honour
- worked in NASA as mathematician
- Ph.D., on Cycle Vector Space Theory
- Returned to India in 1971 to teach at IIT Kanpur.
After his death, his body is lying on road. This is how we give respect scientists who sacrificed for nation.
India claims Trillion Dollars Economy?
This is the body of the great mathematician Vashisht Narayan Singh in the PMCH campus, whose hospital administration did not fulfill the formality of providing an ambulance to his family members.
This is shameful that any human being has to meet such plight.
This is matter of great shame for entire nation,
But How many of us have ever heard about an Indian mathematician Vashishth Narayan Singh? None or may be very few
It's unfortunate as a country for India, as it can't look after it’s own countries wealth. This is a person everyone should know about his journey at least every Indian.
From Mahavira to Vivekananda, from Aryabhatta to Dr Rajendra Prasad, Bihar has given the country and the world the precious gems.
Bihar has provided the world with numerous discoveries, inventions, god’s gifts and infinitesimal talent.
A legendary name when it comes to numbers, Vashishtha Narayan Singh was someone who has dedicated his life and soul to the academia of this country.
A Mathematician by profession, Vashishtha Narayan Singh was a pool of talent when it comes to numbers and calculations.
Vashishtha Narayan Singh was one of those precious gems. This unsung hero has made the land of Bihar proud in every possible aspect.
When most of us are striving hard to get a visa for USA this man came back to India in 1972 to serve in academics.
He was born on 2 April 1942 in Basantpur village of Bhojpur district in Bihar, India to Lal Bahadur Singh and Lahaso Devi.
His village is Vasantpur, but it' popularly called 'Vashishtha Babu ka gaon'. He received his primary & secondary education from Netarhat Residential School and college education from Patna Science College.
Vashishtha Narayan Singh was actually blessed with some outstanding DNA in him that had manifested quite early on while he was a teen-aged school boy.
Vashishtha Narayan Singh became a legend as a student when he was allowed by Patna University to appear in 2 year course of B.SC(Hons.) in Mathematics in its very first year. When he came into MSc first year, again he was allowed to appear in MSc last year examination and again he topped. When he was studying in Patna Science College,
Vashishtha Narayan Singh was noticed by John L. Kelley, a professor at the University of California.
Professor Kelley gave him five difficult problems and he solved them with many methods.
Mr. John L. Kelley got impressed and requested him to come to America for further study.
Vashishtha Narayan Singh received PhD on Reproducing Kernels and Operators with a Cyclic Vector from University of California, Berkeley, in 1969.
His doctoral advisor was John L. Kelley. Here, his Phd thesis as well 👇
In 1988, Vashishtha Narayan Singh went missing and was traced back in 1992 as a homeless person near Siwan, Bihar, India.
He then was treated in NIMHANS in Bangalore between 1993 and 1997. Unfortunately, he has not been given the respect, recognition and love that he deserves.
Bollywood Director prakash jha said that he would make a biopic on Vashishtha Narayan Singh’s life.
The biggest irony is even his own country is not given him the respect he deserves. Probably they don’t even heard his name as media is busy spreading TRP based news.
Even, No government representatives comes to even meet when he was alive. The legend who challenged Einstein's theory of relativity, took his last breath at Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH).
just wanted to let you know after outrage on social media Mr. Vashisht Narayan Singh was given a State funeral with full honor & respect.
Though It should never come to a point as to how Mr. Singh’s mortal body was taken care off initially.
Susashan Babu Nitish Kumar ji...
Andher Nagri Chaupat Raja to sune honge ?
Your Casteist and Communal politics are Beyond Salvage 😡
Where does your administration conscience go! While great people like Vashisht Narayan Singh pass away and their bodies wait for basic facilities. Khud ke kisi apne ke saath aisa hone doge kabhi?
His contributions to mathematics is unparalleled across the world.
Deeply saddened at loss of a brilliant mathematician, whose great achievements will be remembered.
He once challenged the theory of Albert Einstein. He was one of the best mathematician, India have ever produced.
There will be no match of such person. We salute you! Om Shanti
