To all those who have been endlessly braying  pointless inanities about "Intelligence Failure" about the dastardly Terrorist attack in Pulwama ...substantial Intelligence and information was provided about possible attacks. Intelligence agencies, Defence Intelligence, Para Military are pushed against the wall while the sundry keep pointing soiled fingers at the capabilities of the agencies who do a thankless job of gathering information in the most hostile situations and are continuously under pressure to keep the integrity of this land safe.

Most of the people do not understand that the Defence forces, ParaMil and the agencies are fighting everyday against the Asymmetric and Nonlinear Urban warfare that is being waged internally and externally. The amount of effort that is put in collecting, sifting and streamlining the information and patterns are not boasted and bugled. The Asymmetric and Nonlinear Urban warfare that this land is facing today has it's roots deeply entrenched in ideologies that are detrimental to the nation.

The phenomenon of terrorism can be seen as comprising human elements (supporters and hard core terrorists) and ideological elements, Non State Actors at alia., and Terrorism needs to be seen as a process. This process includes  ideological outreach, acquisition of  funding  and support, recruitment, organization, indoctrination, training,  planning, targeting,  attack, exploitation of results, financial rewards and  other  factors which lead to  production of terrorist acts and outfits. 

Every terrorist outfit operates differently and everyday our men keep themselves updated instead of sticking to Single Anti Terrorism model. This is not a Political war but an Ideological war that has been waged on this land for quite sometime. The models, methodologies and execution of these Ideologically indoctrined people are totally unconventional compared to the conventional systems 

Many have mentioned few years back about this. Those behind the curtains and those Non State actors Grant the Shar'iyee right (legitimacy) to infiltrate the Dar el-Harb (war zone), infiltrate, create discord. Methods of classical intelligence tactics cannot match up to the Old world Desert tactics because it has tremendous civilizational and global dimension. This is like a very potent brew. 

Our Intelligence services have been pushing themselves to measure the progress against  terrorism and have been identifying critical, outcome-determining elements and Have always mitigated multiple number of attacks which are not disclosed for Specific reasons.

The Terrorists operating in this land have come full circle with Ideological support, tremendous financial support and recruits And the Terrorist Organizations that are operating have come out of the initial financial support and are now like fully functioning conglomerates with multiple asset bases and they are zealously proactive in protecting their ideological warfare.

Two recent instances that shook the morale of the forces

On November, 3, 2014, some teenagers (must remember majority of the stone pelters are teenagers and the Pulwama terrorist was also a teenager) crashed the check post with their Maruti Car and also did not stop at the second check post also in the Budgam area, which is hardly 40 kilometers from Pulwama. As the messages passed to the third check post to block the speeding car, the soldiers tried to stop and the teenagers-packed car did not stop. As a last step, the soldiers opened fire.

Media and Kashmir sympathisers raised hell on this issue and portrayed this as Military aggression. The State Government run by Omar Abdullah also went overboard.  At the end, the Defence Ministry was forced to issue a probe.  Nobody came to the rescue of the soldiers asking why the teenagers did not stop the vehicle at check posts. Worse was to come – because of pressure from Delhi, the Army admitted it as their mistake, before the probe findings in five days and paid compensation to the teenagers’ families.

The then Defence Minister Arun Jaitley and even Prime Minister Narendra Modi went with the outrage created in Kashmir. Now the four soldiers in the third check post who shot at the speeding car are still in jail.

Soldiers in Kashmir vs. Politicians, Media, crooked Left-Liberal and pro-Jihadi elements

Are the soldiers of the Indian Armed Forces fighting with one hand tied behind their back?

As we write this post on the terror attack in Pulwama, near Srinagar, by Pakistan harboured Jaish-e-Mohammed, the toll has risen to more than 45 CRPF soldiers. While the sensible persons in India mourn and get angry over this dastardly attack on our forces, we must remember how our soldiers in Kashmir were treated by the Politicians, Government, Media and the so-called left-liberal crooks in Delhi-like metro cities. Many Left-Liberal crooks in connivance with pro-Jihadi elements and some cunning fellows in media vilified the much respected Indian Army and Para-Military forces. Make no mistake, India’s Armed forces are one of the most disciplined armies in the world and are respected for it.

Yet, they are let down by us

Many crooks in media and the uncouth Left-Liberals unleashed all sorts of allegations and campaigned against soldiers in Kashmir for using pellet guns against Jihadi elements that were engaged in massive stone pelting. These stone-pelters were providing cover for terrorists to escape. All these fake human rights campaigns were aimed to destroy the morale of the forces, who many a time did not get the support of the Government.

What happened after this incident? The Jihadi campaigners won. The check posts were diluted and shooting was avoided. The rule of shooting at the third check post was avoided. Now, this dilution became good for the explosive-laden SUV to travel undetected. We are not further discussing this issue. Now let us go to the second shameful issue.

Second shameful incident

The ever-talkative Defence Minister Nirmala Sitaraman is yet to utter a word on why she allowed the then Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti  to register an FIR against an Army team for murder and attempt to murder charges for firing at a stone pelting Jihadi mod https://www.dnaindia.com/india/report-filed-fir-against-army-after-consulting-defence-minister-nirmala-sitharaman-mehbooba-mufti-2579500

Mehbooba Mufti declared in the Assembly that she spoke to Nirmala to get clearance to register an FIR against Army officers. Till date no Defence Minister has allowed this and these kinds of cunning requests should have been rejected outright. Nirmala Sitaraman who talks on everything under the sun is keeping a criminal silence on this grave wrong as Defence Minister.

At last the Army Major’s father approached Supreme Court against the registration of FIR. On March 2018, the apex court stayed the state police’ FIR to fix the young Major who headed the unit, and was facing stone-pelting.

Why are army jawans in jail? If a car breaks security protocol two times, firing on the car to stop it is mandatory and a part of the security protocol. What if this car was laden with explosives? We would have had another Pulwama or worse?

The above mentioned two developments actually sabotaged the morale of forces in Kashmir. These incidents show the lack of support from political class to the soldiers. Now it is time to change the mindset of the vile political class, which always succumb to campaigns, mobocracy and vote banks.

Once you throw Jawans in jail for doing their duty, do you think they will want to stop cars? They still do...inspite if knowing that they may be imprisoned for simply doing their duty.

That orders by govt. must change. The government must consider the security forces perspective too, not just of local political parties.

The most important thing is the post-attack/recovery period. 

Since not all targets can be protected at  all times, some will likely be hit and this is a fact which is not neglected by the Armed Forces and Agencies, Hence the  effectiveness of post attack/incident  recovery  is a significant factor in  measuring  the success or failure of terrorist  operations is always paramount for the men who stand guarding this land. And one final thing...Keep trust and faith in the Armed Forces and Agencies and the Government. 

Making illogical statements and baying for blood is not recommended right now. We wrote these with teary eyes, unable to fathom the pain and loss that will be faced by the families, Nation as a whole cohesive unit. It's time to keep the petty differences. Stop instigating one another. This is our Motherland and we should be vigilant in this hour of chaos and darkness. We bid our fallen brave brothers who have given their lives.
