सिन्धुर दीधा सातसै, हैवर पाँच हज़ार।
एकावन सासण दिया, जगपत जगदातार।।
साईं करे परेवड़ा, जगतपरे दरबार।
पीछोले पाणी पियां, कण चुग्गां कोठार।।
These famous couplets appropriates it:
Maharana Jagat Singh was son of Maharana Karan Singh and acceded to the throne in VS 1684 (1628 AD). He was famous for his charity. During his lifetime, he donated a great amount of money, jewels, gifted elephants, horses and issued many village grants. Every year on his accession day, he used to do Tuladaan, weighed himself in silver bullion and donate it.
Rajprashasti inscription at Rajsamand Lake mentions:
In VS 1704 (1648 AD), he visited Omkareshwar Temple and there on the occassion of solar eclipse he did Tuladaan of gold. He erected a Tula-stambh there to commemorate this event. Maharana Jagat Singh used to perform such charities every year in company of his brothers Garibdas, Chatra Singh and his sons Raj Singh and Ari Singh.

From then on, he used to perform Tuladaan of gold every year on his accession day. The 8 Tula-Stambhs for his Tuladaan are present on the left side when entering Badi Pol of City Palace in Udaipur.

He built Jagadish Temple (Jagganath Rai) in VS 1708 (1651 AD).
On the day of consecration, he donated a great amount of money, jewels and issued village grants.
Jagadish Temple inscription mentions that he donated a Kalp-Vriksh, Sapta-sagar, Ratna-Dhenu and Vishwa-chakra, along with the other charities.
Jag Mandir Palace
Construction of Jag Mandir Palace was completed in his reign and it was named after him.
He also rebuilt fortifications in Chittorgarh ignoring the treaty with Mughals. Maharana Jagat Singh died in VS 1709 (1652 AD).
